After completing extensive renovations to their home, the owners of this house had little money left to renovate the kitchen. So they were looking for a cheap alternative to update their old country-style kitchen to complement their modern, contemporary house. Rebecca shows us some quick and clever alternatives to renovating a kitchen.
To give the kitchen new life, Rebecca painted the wooden cupboards and the wall tiles and attached new handles to the cupboards. She used a DIY tile and laminate paint from White Knight which is brand new to the market, giving the kitchen a whole new look.
The owners chose a simple white for the cupboards, a mustard brown for the wall tiles and the grout lines redefined in white. The wooden knobs on the cupboards were replaced by chrome handles to match the new contemporary style.
The benefits of this new tile and laminate paint are that it has a much smoother finish than regular paint as it doesn't show brush strokes. It also resists scratching and everyday bumps and knocks. It's really easy to use and far less disruptive, quicker and cheaper than removing and replacing old tiles and cupboards. The whole process can be completed in a weekend.
