Getting rid of excess paint can be messy. Wattyl Waste Paint Hardener is a recent innovation which makes the process easier. It consists of crystals which, when added to water-based paint, thicken out the mixture so that it can be formed into a pile and disposed of as a solid in the normal garbage. Paint must not be poured down the gutter or drain.

Simply pour the crystals onto the paint spill, stir them in and leave for a few minutes to harden.

Next, scrape onto a newspaper, roll it up and dispose of it in the usual rubbish container.

One 100g sachet will harden up to 2.5 litres of water-based paint. Note that this product works with water-based paint only.
