Talia, a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home has been built with full masonry walls on concrete slabs, and features a cedar shingle roof. Because of the complexity of construction and sloping ground it took around four years to complete, and was finished in 1986. The current owners bought it in 1989.

Nicknamed the "beehive" house for its geometric shape, this Buckminster Fuller (the inventor of the geodesic dome) inspired home is unique in structure and modern features.

The geodesic dome is the lightest, strongest and most cost-effective structure ever devised. It is able to cover more space without internal supports than any other structure and becomes proportionally lighter and stronger the larger it is.

The top level of the home features an entrance hall, reception area and a grand master bedroom, complete with cathedral ceilings and water views. Downstairs, the main level of the home features a massive open-plan living and dining room (10m ceiling height) with two adjoining sundecks and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

The kitchen comprises timber/granite cupboards, benchtops and European stainless steel stoves. Two bedrooms and a bathroom are also located on this level.

The lower level is designed as a games room and contains another two sundecks. There is also a huge wine cellar located under the garage and this is adjacent to an outdoor living area.

The cedar-roofed garage has an arched diagonal transverse beam, from which rafters curve out to the perimeter, giving the impression of looking into an upturned boat hull.

There are approximately 300,000 geodesic domes around the world. This home is one of the few in Australia and possibly the only residential one in Sydney.
