Since retiring from cricket, Craig has focused on his property development business. Craig's company, Craig McDermott Developments, is committed to building high-quality properties. Mostly he is involved with developing precincts and clusters, the properties ranging from townhouses to million-dollar homes.

Like cricket, the job involves a lot of teamwork - the homes are produced in conjunction with professional designers, architects, builders and artists.

Craig's own home reflects the style and quality that he achieves for his clients. Craig and his family wanted a large house, but they also wanted it to feel like home; they achieved this largely through the use of warm interior colours. The home also reflects the personality of the owners. The billiard room, for example, is full of sporting memorabilia, not surprisingly. The home also has a great outlook, with views to Surfers Paradise.
