Having your wedding in the home you love sounds very romantic, but to get the house ready for the big day can be hard work. Our couple want to get married in the garden of their new home. But before the bride walks down the aisle, there's a lot of work to be done and not long to do it. That's where the Our House crew step in.

Natasha is a fashion designer. Her business, Design Palace, oversees the design and manufacture of exclusive corporate and tourist apparel and accessories. Ray is a transport coordinator at Sydney Airport. They've have known each other since school, but it wasn't until recently that romance blossomed.

It seemed fate played a part in bringing this couple together. Natasha wanted to invite Ray to her 35th birthday party, but was unsuccessful tracking him down. Unbeknown to Natasha, a mutual friend bumped into Ray on the day of the party and invited him along. It was some reunion — they've been together ever since.

Ray and Natasha have a ready made family. Ray has two children from a previous marriage who spend every second weekend at the new house. Then there's Leo the dog and Chairman Mao the kitten. They're all involved in the wedding — Ray's kids will be best man and flower girl, while Leo the dog is the ring bearer.

Now that we've met the happy couple, it's on to the renovations. There's a lot to do before the big day, so the Our House team will be around to lend a helping hand. Ray and Natasha are keen to work with the local council to ensure their house is restored to its former glory. Like Ashfield Council, they are committed to keeping the house in the style and character of the era.

The house is a brick semi in Sydney's Haberfield. It has a small entrance hall, two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, sunroom, small living room, spare bathroom and outside laundry. Natasha's great passion in life (besides Ray) is cooking. She wants to feed this passion during the wedding renovations with a brand new kitchen.

To get the house looking its best there's some cosmetic work to do on the exterior. The outside laundry will be brought inside, the front path needs to be revamped and the doors need painting. The bricks also need re-pointing, the tiles on the verandah need to be restored and the fences need a facelift.

The Our House team will lend a helping hand as Natasha and Ray try to meet their wedding deadline. The bathrooms, kitchen and kids' bedroom will all get a makeover. All their unwanted gear will be sold at a garage sale and the extra cash put into the renovations. Tara will lend a hand with the wedding invitations and Shirl will get stuck into one of the toughest tasks — ripping out the kitchen.

Initially, the plan was to work with the existing kitchen, raising the benches and installing new appliances. However, the professionals said something different — start over. So, Natasha will sell the old kitchen through the Trading Post or at the garage sale, while the new kitchen is installed from scratch. The new kitchen will be built using Formica bench tops and doors. We'll also install Fisher and Paykel appliances from the Quantum range.

Ray will keep himself busy in the main bathroom, ripping out the bath and the old vanity. Only the white tiles and toilet will be left standing as the bathroom's prepared for its new sophisticated look. Stunning new tiles will be layed on the floor and a mosaic feature will run along the top of the white wall tiles. During the next few weeks, Shirl will create a stream-lined DIY vanity with multiple cupboards and drawers. Tara will finish a wall mirror with mosaics, to match the tiled bathroom walls.

In upcoming episodes, we will track the joys and dramas of Ray and Natasha's wedding renovations as they try and meet the wedding deadline. If all goes to plan, the renovations will be done in time for the big day, then all that's left to do is toast the lucky couple with a much earned glass of champagne.
