In today's tight real estate climate, vendors need to find every possible advantage to give their property the edge. This family got exactly that, when the teams from Our House, Burke's Backyard, Money, Backyard Blitz and Changing Rooms combined forces to transform their home inside and out.

We meet Bruce Scotland, 50, who is separated with two children, Alison (17) and Andrew (20), both studying and living at home. Their home was put on the market three months ago as Bruce needs to settle his divorce. Alison and Andrew agreed it was time to move from their family home built in 1976. It's the only home the children have ever known so the emotional pull is huge, as is the financial gamble.

Enter Paul Clitheroe from Money who points out the do's and don'ts when selling your home and steers the Scotlands through the real estate maze and onto firm foundations, paving the way for the RENOVATION RESCUE team to give their hot tips on the best ways to present your home.

Our House's Tara Dennis, Reg Livermore and Rebecca Gilling join Suzie Wilks from Changing Rooms to transform the interior of the Scotland home from bland to brilliant.

When it comes to the exterior, first impressions are crucial. Don Burke has a garden makeover solution designed specifically to enhance the street appeal of the house. Don's plan will be brought to life by the team from Backyard Blitz — Jamie Durie, Scott Cam, Jody Rigby, Nigel Ruck and the faithful kelpie, Lizzie.

Selling a home is always stressful so Getaway's Catriona Rowntree takes the Scotlands on a brief escape while the house is made over. Even the family dog gets pampered by Animal Hospital's Rebecca Harris, who has tips on how to help pets cope with the upheaval of moving house.
