Water-repellent bricks could be a saviour for the building industry and consumers alike, as they eliminate rising damp, cracking and any need for waterproofing sealants.
The water-repellent brick has been achieved by blending a secret waterproofing material through the entire brick, rather than just applying it to the surface. This ensures the brick remains waterproof through extended periods of soaking. The CSIRO has approved the brick as "waterproof against wind-driven rain".
Tech-Dry bricks can be laid immediately after rain, increasing efficiency and labour costs. They also offer other benefits in that they:

Have high resistance to salt damage (salt water can normally permeate the surface of a standard brick).

Are easier to wash down (dirt and grime can't penetrate the brick).

Are resistant to fungus growth (such as mould or moss).

Retain colour.

Have higher 28-day compression and flexural strength compared to a standard brick.

Are perfect for building in coastal areas to combat salt water damage and high wind-driven rain. |
