This busy mum works long hours and likes to retreat to a restful feminine haven at the end of the day for sleeping, reading and watching television. But her room is currently cramped and not too inviting and there is a bigger room next door used for storage and babysitting her grandson. The spare room is located at the front of the house and is nice and bright so Tara is going to do it up for her.

Before
  • Existing bedroom cramped and cluttered
  • Room next door larger and used only as spare storage space

  • Make bed canopy using bamboo — cut along the join to about half the bed length and lash together four lengths. Mark out position of cup hooks then screw in wall mates and hooks. Suspend canopy from string and drape muslin loosely round frame.
