This “boring” bedroom belongs to 4-year-old twins. With plain walls and lack of decoration, it is definitely in need of a makeover. This one comes mainly in the form of a kit. The “Playscape” landscapes allow you to create an instant and dramatic makeover and are all made from ply, with a non-toxic paint surface that can easily be washed. Many items are “interactive” so the kids can have a lot of fun and learn at the same time. These kits are suitable for children up to 5 years old.
There are a range of Playscape themes to choose from; "The Aussie Bush", "Educational Playscapes", "The Teddies", "Farmyard" and the "Jungle Bungle".
The jungle scene chosen for this makeover includes a giraffe, zebra, elephant, turtle, clouds, large and small palms, butterflies, ladybird bugs and bees.

To make your jungle scene come alive, begin by painting a background colour on your walls. This is very easy and quick to apply. It’’s just a matter of spreading the acrylic paint of your choice with a roller, from skirting to chair rail height. Don’’t worry about finishing off with a neat, straight edge-create a jagged finish using your roller. This is more effective and complements this theme.

Using your chosen kit, plan your layout by propping the items against the wall. Blue Tac is an excellent way to arrange the room before sticking everything more permanently into place.

Each item comes ready to attach to the wall. Carefully remove the plastic backing from each adhesive pad. To ensure a good bond, avoid touching the adhesive backing. The glue bonds immediately on contact so ensure positioning is correct before sticking to wall. Start by placing the bottom edge of one of the items in position and continue until your landscape is complete.

Allow 24 hours for the glue to set.

If you ever choose to relocate your design, want to change the scene or if the kids grow out of it, you can simply remove the velcro and residue glue with something like De-Solv-It (a natural citrus base) and take it all with you.

A colourful rug and some fresh matching linen completes this makeover.
