The aim of this weatherboard home renovation is to make the entire living area more user-friendly and suitable by opening it up. The kitchen is small and the laundry takes up too much room. This renovation is carried out by qualified tradesmen.

The wall connecting the laundry and kitchen is knocked down to create a larger kitchen and built-in laundry. A new gas cooktop, electric oven and slide-out rangehood is installed, along with white laminate cupboards.
The new look includes a Duropal timber-look laminate benchtop and brushed aluminium-look kickboards. The splashback is made of handpainted small square tiles, Midnight Blue in colour.

Lengths of spotted gum are used to replace the old chipboard flooring and tatty wood floorboards.

The wall between the dining room and lounge is removed, creating one large room.

New timber bi-fold doors and windows leading to the deck are installed, together with a timber "servery", comprising a wider bottom window ledge. It will be just right for passing out meals from the kitchen to the sunny deck for outdoor entertaining.

A new paint scheme completes the look. While this renovation is fairly extensive, it will add considerable value to the owners' home.

This renovation cost the owners approximately $20,000.
