| Facade Makeover |
A complete about-face for this old place

The owners are just about ready to move into this home and are going to give it a facelift to bring the facade into the 21st century. All this work is carried out by qualified tradesmen.

The front fence of the house is "bagged". This is a render technique, which in modern terms uses a sponge float to apply a coloured render finish giving a rough, swirled effect to the surface.

To renovate the path leading to the house entrance, a sand bed is first laid. It is leveled and then new pavers are placed in position. With Blokpavers, it's simple to achieve just about any shape or pattern. Colours chosen here are Terracotta, Sandstone and Charcoal.

The house receives a couple of coats of Dulux Tuscan Gold, similar in colour to the rendered front fence.

The front corrugated metal fascia is replaced with thick timber overlay and edge pieces to give it a more solid appearance.

The safety grill over the front window is removed and a timber framework added to give the illusion of a larger window. The window frames and down pipes are painted in a Mediterranean Blue colour.

Some new plants are put in and the front gate replaced with a timber framework for effect.

Dulux Tuscan Effects paints were used for this makeover. The house was painted in Tuscan Gold, eaves in Lime White and sills, gutters and fascia in Mediterranean Blue. For further information about Dulux products call 13 25 25.
