The big day has finally arrived and it's time to toast the bride and groom. It's hard to imagine the site of this beautiful Russian Wedding Banquet was once a bare backyard with an old fibro garage. And inside, the house is fit for honeymooners, with a whole new look.
It's been a bumpy ride, but finally the renovations are complete. Few rooms have been left untouched, with the kitchen, bedroom and bathrooms all getting facelifts. The kids' bedroom was one of the first rooms to come under the hammer. With a little help from the kids themselves, Tara transformed the crowded bedroom into a colourful retreat.
Next, the kitchen was completely overhauled. A passionate cook, Natasha wanted a functional kitchen with all new appliances. A wall was pulled down and the old kitchen gutted and sold at the garage sale. New benches and appliances were built into the remodelled kitchen just in time for the wedding caterers.
The bathrooms were next on the list, with new tiles and fittings and a great DIY vanity built by Shirl. Tara also lent a hand in the bathroom, creating a colourful mosaic mirror.
Outside, the garden has been landscaped, the garage demolished, pavers layed and a new BBQ installed. The next big challenge is decorating the garden in time for the wedding. Ray and Natasha have chosen a Russian Wedding theme and Tara's going to help out.
The Russian Wedding banquet theme will include using mirrors as a stunning centrepiece for the tables; with fresh ivy, ribbons and organza draped over a buffet of Russian delicacies displayed on spray-painted pedestals and boxes.
