| Step by Step 1 Cut all pieces to size as per cutting list. You may like to ask your local cabinet maker or cut-to-size specialist to assist you with your materials. 2 Take the two end pieces and lay flat on the bench. Be sure that they are in pairs, as this material has a downgraded back i.e. one face is better quality than the other, obviously the better side will be the face. 3 Mark out the shape of the ends. 4 Use a jigsaw to cut out the shape by cutting on the waste side of the line, roughly 2mm. You may set up a straight edge or if you are competent enough cut it freehand. 5 Set up a router with a straight cutting bit, securely clamp a straight edge to the job the distance from your line is the measurement from the edge of the cutter to the outside of your router base. 6 Using the router to "clean up" the cut will give you a much better finish. Remember the "direction of feed" when using a router, the direction of the cutter rotation is the direction you move the router. External cuts - anti-clockwise Internal cuts- clockwise 7 The corner will need to be finished off with a chisel as the bit will leave a round corner. 8 Sand end pieces then mark out position of shelves. 9 Pre-drill clearance holes for screws through ends. The clearance hole should be slightly larger than the shank of the screw. 10 Drill 40mm diameter holes in the shelf as a rod holder, space them evenly. 11 Remove sharp edges from visible pieces, this can be done with a chamfering bit in your router or simply with abrasive paper and sanding block. 12 Sand all pieces at this stage as it will be difficult once assembled. 13 Attach rails to ends, drill a pilot hole into the end the same diameter as the core of the screw (just below the thread). 14 Attach lining boards to back starting with the centre one and working towards the outsides. Screw and glue them in position. The two outside boards will have to be reduced to finish flush with the outside of the unit. 15 Attach the doors, a final clean up with abrasive paper and you are ready to apply your favourite finish.
