With father's day approaching, it's time to start thinking about toys for the boys. Well, Shirl has the perfect gift for one lucky handydad a brand new work station.
STEP BY STEP 1 Cut all pieces according to the cutting list. To ensure the sheets are used efficiently, use the cutting pattern supplied and cut in the order listed. 2 Take the two end pieces, pre-drill screw holes and screw the top and bottom to the ends. 4 Pre-drill screw holes through the back piece and fit to unit. 5 Hang the internal doors. These doors will accommodate tool storage. 6 Make the internal drawers, they can be screwed and glued or nailed and glued. 7 To make the handle on the drawers, drill a hole with a 35mm spade bit, then cut the piece through the centre of the hole to leave a semi-circle finger hole. You will notice on the cutting list that this piece has been cut larger to allow for drilling. 8 Use the tee hinges to hinge the overhead door (which lifts up). A piano hinge is also suitable. Drill a finger pull hole with a spade bit. 9 Use a piano hinge for extra strength to attach the drop down door (position unit on its back). Screw the hinge to the width of the bench first, then place a nail between the bench and unit to allow for swing clearance. Attach the other half of the hinge. 10 Attach the two legs using the square flap hinges. Leg length should be adjusted to the height you want the unit positioned on the wall. 11 Fit tool clips to suit your requirements. You can attach some pegboard to the internal doors to hang your tools, if required. 12 Lay the unit on its back, close the doors and fit the locking latches. 13 To mount the work station, screw through the back of the unit with Dyna Bolts. For extra support, a pine support rail underneath can be attached to the wall.
