Here is a simple-to-make pet bed which provides a high level of creature comfort for your four-legged friend.

1
Drill two 20mm-deep holes into each corner block or leg, the diameter of the spade bit will depend on the size of the dowel or broom handle that you are using. Any scrap timber can be used for this purpose and the size of your bed depends on the size of your pet.

2
Place some glue in the holes. Construction adhesive is preferred for its strength and waterproof properties, which comes in handy when periodically hosing the bed down for cleaning. After tapping in all the rails and squaring the frame up, allow the glue to dry thoroughly.

3
Measure out your shadecloth to a comfortable size for your pet. For extra strength you can double the cloth over. Lay on the frame and cut a section out of one corner so it fits neatly around the leg. Shadecloth material is tough and shouldn't fray. Starting at that corner, staple the cloth to the rail. Then pull it tight and fix the opposite side in the same way.

4
Do the same for the other two rails. Trim off any excess, and it's time for your four-legged family member to start dreaming!
