There are many different garden designs around and lots of plant varieties to choose from. So now you can decorate your garden with animals that won't dig up the flower beds, and you don't have to restrict yourself to geese. You can cut out a template for any kind of animal you can draw.
From a sheet of metal 1800mm x 1200mm you can cut out more than just our three sizes of geese, you should be able to get about seven in a variety of the sizes provided. You can adjust these sizes to make lots of goslings too.

1 From the small grid drawing, sketch your goose onto cardboard to the desired scale. We chose three heights of 70cm, 60cm and 50cm. Cut out the templates.
2 Trace the three geese onto the sheet metal from the templates.
3 Cut out the geese with the jigsaw and file edges until smooth.
4 Using the jigsaw, cut a slot lengthways down the metal box tube long enough to support the body of the goose, leaving a suitable length to support the goose in the ground. The tube will look like a leg as well as holding up the goose. The slot may look wide, but once you tighten the bolts later to hold the body it will close up.
5 Drill two holes in the box tube, one near the open end of the slot and the second down near the bottom of the slot. These are for the bolts.
6 Slide the goose into the slot and drill through the holes already in the box tube through the body of the goose. Push through the bolts, add a washer and tighten the nut. Trim off any extra length from the bolt.

FINISH:

Paint the body of the geese white, and the legs and beak yellow. Add just a small dot of black for the eye.
