1 Mark a circle on the MDF with a radius of 450mm. This will be the outer edge of the mirror frame. To scribe a perfect circle, nail a length of scrap timber to the centre of the MDF. Hold a pencil next to the timber at the correct length (450mm) and spin the timber. The end result will be a circle with a 900mm diameter. 2 Nail the MDF (at the centre marking) to the corner of the bench with enough overhang to allow you to rotate the board as you cut along the pencilled line. Cut and then smooth the edges with some sandpaper. Keep the MDF nailed to the bench. 3 Using a router, take off a rolled edge on the outside circle to tidy rough patches. 4 To mark the inner circle, which will make the frame 130mm wide, cut 130mm off the radius arm or just move the nail on the scrap timber. With the nail fixed to the same spot draw the inner circle. 5 Drill a pilot hole on the inside of the circle to start off the jigsaw for cutting the inner circle out. 6 Using a router, create a rolled edge on the inside of the frame. 7 On the back of the frame cut a rebate about 7 mm deep and 10mm wide, enough to hold the 4mm mirror and the silicone that holds it in place. 8 After cutting the rebate, paint the frame the colour of your choice. Black paint should be used on the rebate, where the mirror will sit. This will create a clean line where the mirror meets the timber. 9 When the paint is dry, squeeze a line of glazing silicone along the centre of the rebate. After 24 hours the silicone will be set and the mirror ready to hang.
