1 First cut the timber for the base unit.
From the 17mm plywood, you will need:
two @ 1058 x 330mm (top and bottom)
two @ 678 x 330mm (ends)
four @ 330 x 330mm (divisions)
Then from the 9mm ply, you will need:
two @ 1024 x 330mm (middle shelf)
2 Glue and screw two divisions to each of the 1024 x 330 x 9mm panels as shown. See diagram 1.
3 Screw together to form the inner frame of the base unit. See diagram 2.
4 Now screw the unit together. See diagram 3.
5 Cut out the 6 drawers from the remaining 9mm plywood. Depending on your preference you could choose to use mitred corners (see diagram 4) or butt joints (see diagram 5). Glue the sides of the drawers into place.
6 Cut out a finger pull in the front face of each drawer (see diagram 6) so you will be able to open each drawer.
7 So that it will be easy to move the unit around, screw castors onto the bottom.
8 Finish by applying a coat of water-based clear varnish over the unit.
9 Then as a final tip, rub a little candle wax onto the drawers so that they open and close smoothly.
