| Hanging Dresser |
| Make a country-style wall-mounted dresser that can be used to display plates and other wares. |

1 Start by making the shelves. Cut the 140mm x 20mm pine to the following measurements. From the 2.4m piece cut two at 110cm. From the two 2.1m pieces cut four 96cm lengths.
2 Using three of the 96cm pieces, cut a groove 8mm wide x 10mm deep, 60mm from the back edge. When the dresser is finished the plates will be positioned along the grooves so they won't slide off the shelf. Cut out the groove using a power saw, then chisel out.
3 Mark the two side pieces that were cut at 110cm into three even spaces. This is where the shelves will be positioned.
4 Glue and nail the shelves into place. Make sure that the groove side is facing up on the three lower shelves. There's no need to pre-drill here.
5 Next, install the back on the dresser. Cut the V-joint panelling into lengths of 110cm. On the first board, cut one edge square by planing off one of the grooved edges (tongues). Glue and nail the boards to the rear of the dresser, attaching the square board first to ensure a neat finish. Also, be sure you check the diagonals to make sure the unit is square.
6 You will still have half a lining board left over. This will now be used as a decorative pelmet on top of the dresser. Create your own design, then cut with a jigsaw. Once this is cut, glue and nail it to the top of the dresser.
7 Sand and seal with a finish of your choice, then fix securely to the wall using a level to make it straight.
