The space-age loo by Toto doesn't look all that different from a conventional toilet, but it is a whole lot smarter, and it does everything by remote control. For example, a pad lifts and closes the lid and seat, sets a timer so the seat is comfortably warm on those cold winter mornings, activates a room heater and adjusts a hidden spray nozzle.
1 It's not only a hands-free unit, it is also paperless. The warm water spray can oscillate - you can have it gentle or strong. And there's a warm air blower to finish off the job.As a child-proof measure, the unit won't operate unless there's pressure on the seat (that is - unless someone is sitting on it).
2 A handleless tap works from an infra red ray that detects movement and starts the flow of water. As long as there's movement, the water flows. Take your hands away and it stops. The cost is $300.

Cost The complete techno toilet is just under $5,000.
There is also a smaller version that will fit over just about any standard Australian pedestal which costs $1,800.
