Cleaning your windows can be tiresome, especially if you live by the sea and have a problem with salt. Kevin Andrews has developed a new product called the Window Cascade. It is ideal for seaside homes or hard to reach windows, like those in apartment blocks. Best of all, it's fully automatic, so you can even clean your windows while you sleep.

Kevin Andrews has lived on the coast for most of his life and has become very aware of the problems with salt. Living by the sea means you need to clean your windows several times a week, in order to keep them salt free. Frustrated by the problems with salt and window frame corrosion, he spent 18 months developing and manufacturing the Window Cascade.

The system is fully automatic, working off an electronic timer. It can be programmed to wash your windows at any time of the day or night. The system can also be operated manually, simply by the push of a button. Most people set the timer to active the system in the early hours of the morning, so when they wake up, the windows are sparkling clean! The system is very quiet, so you're not going to be disturbed when it switches on or off.

The Window Cascade is connected to the mains water supply, commonly an outside tap. It is tailor made to suit your home and the unit is powder coated or anodized to match your window frame.

Window Cascade doesn't just clean the windows, but also the window frames. This cuts down on the corrosion problems experienced by aluminium frames in salt prone areas. It is also environmentally friendly, using no chemicals or detergents.

The Window Cascade system uses small jets to disperse water, creating a cascade effect that removes salt and dirt residue. They are very efficient at cleaning and use a minimal amount of water. Running the system for less than two minutes at a time achieves excellent results, making it efficient and economical.

The Window Cascade costs approximately $90 per lineal metre, including installation, although this cost may vary, depending on access. It also comes with a two year guarantee. At present, Window Cascade is based in Sydney, but the company is looking to expand into other major coastal areas.
