"Wombat" pot feet have been on the market for several years and have proved extremely successful. Formed from terracotta clay, the pot feet have flat backs, allowing for drainage and air circulation around the base of the plant holder. The plant pot simply "sits" on three wombats to support it. If the soil is aerated, it tends to be richer in nutrients.
The pot feet also protect the roots and soil from unwanted insects, such as ants, which can otherwise crawl up through the plant's drainage hole. The feet are handmade, using a combination of moulding and carving techniques. Every line of fur and detail is carefully carved, in addition to the claws and facial features. It takes around an hour to make each one

Cost Large: 9cm high, 18cm long, RRP $12.
Small: 6cm high, 15cm long, RRP $7.
(Also same price for "whole" wombats, as garden ornaments, without the flat backs). Standard pot feet cost around $1.50 each, in most nurseries.
