Bathrooms are where most hot water scalds occur. Tapcaps are child-proof tap covers, which the manufacturer claims will prevent kids up to five years of age from accessing the hot water tap. Tapcaps comes in two pieces, a base and a protective cover. To install it, remove your existing tap assembly. You then peel off the backing paper from the base and stick the base onto the tile around your existing tap mechanism. Replace your tap assembly. The protective tap cover is then fitted over the tap.

The Flowgard is a permanent memory-programmed metal strip which can replace the aerator at the end of the tap spout. It works by reacting to temperature changes in the water flow, shutting down dangerously hot water to a trickle in a fraction of a second. It is activated at around 49o C. When the water temperature drops to a safe temperature it will reset itself to allow a normal water flow. RRP: $38.95.
Showergard and Bathgard are also available in the range.

The kitchen is also a dangerous place for young children. Overhanging cords in the kitchen can be very enticing to a youngster. The Cord Curler helps make your old cords safer. By winding your existing cord into the Cord Curler you can substantially reduce the cord's length. You then simply cut the Cord Curler to length and secure each end with tape. RRP: $4.95.

The Cord Wind-Up keeps any dangerous, dangling cords out of reach of children. Simply open the case, slide the cord into position and replace the cover. To adjust the length, twist the cover clockwise.
RRP is $5.25 for a pack of two.
