Trouser Butler
A handy solution to those storage problems.

If you need more storage space for your clothes, but don't want to cover your room with numerous hooks and rails, there is an easy and effective solution. We show you how to turn a coathanger, length of nylon, dowel rods and screw eyes into a "trouser butler" that will carry up to four pairs of pants.

1
Cut your dowel to four equal lengths. Make sure the lengths are the same size as the width of the coathanger.

2
Pre-drill both ends of each dowel rod and the two end points at the base of the coathanger to make screwing easier. Twist a screw eye into each hole.

3
Cut your length of cord into two equal lengths and burn the ends to stop the nylon fraying. Tie one end of each cord around each coathanger screw eye.

4
Next, it's simply a matter of knotting it all together. Tie a simple knot starting from the coathanger and thread your first piece of dowel up the cord, tie it on and work your way down to secure each screw eye at equal distances apart. To position the four rods evenly use a 15cm scrap piece of dowel as a spacer. To use, simply fold each pair of trousers over each dowel "rung" and hang in your wardrobe as usual.
