| Don't buy expensive gift bags, here's how to make your own. |

Using the Kreate-a-bag kit, we make an alternative to the expensive shop-bought bags. Comprehensive instructions are supplied.

Place the sizing template on your chosen paper with the bottom cuff closest to you.

Tear excess paper against the template edge by pulling it towards the centre.

Flip the paper and the template over, keeping the bottom cuff towards you. Replace the template on top of the paper, but don't change its orientation.

Place the centrepiece into the window of the sizing template and then remove this template.

In order to get the proper directions of the folding sequence, first fold the top cuff and then the bottom cuff. Keeping these two folded, next fold the wide side, followed by the underflap.

Remove the centrepiece template.

Place face template into the left folded corner and fold the paper over.

Move the face template to the right folded corner and repeat the process. Remove the face template.

Crease all the folds before continuing.

Release all the folds and apply glue to the inside of the top cuff.

Before gluing down this top cuff, place the cardboard cuff reinforcements (for rigidity) inside. Small bags may not need these reinforcements. Then fold over the top cuff and secure.

Fold over the underflap. Apply glue to the surface.

Connect the wide side to the underflap.

Insert the cardboard forming box. This helps to form the folds of the bottom of the bag and is similar to the final stages of wrapping a present.

Fold the bottom flaps and stick with glue. For extra strength tape can be also be used. Remove the forming box.

Apply glue to the bottom reinforcements and place into the bottom of the inside of the bag.

Use your hole punch to make holes for the bag handles.

Use the bag handle length guidelines on the large sizing template to find the correct handle length. Knot one end. Place through the holes and knot the other end. Using your new or used wrapping paper, this kit will make a number of bags.
