Peel the label off the tin can and put aside.
Wash and dry the can thoroughly.
Secure some plastic wrap to your work surface.
Roll about 300g of the Das-Pronto clay flat onto the plastic. Create a rectangle a little larger than the label and about 5mm thick.
Using the label as a template, lay it on top of the clay and cut around the outside leaving an extra 5mm at one of the shorter ends.
Remove the label and the excess clay and trim about 5mm from one of the longer edges.
Line up the can and roll the clay onto the can just above the bottom lip, smoothing over the join. The clay should sit 5mm lower than the top lip.
To make indents for the piggy face and features on the outside of the clay, use the top of a wine bottle for the nose, a pen cap for the eyes, the end of a spoon for the eyeballs and nostrils, and the end of a fork for the eyelashes and toes. (Alternatively, create your own individual design for your bank.)
Put a small hole in the back so that a pipe cleaner can be inserted for the tail.
Allow the clay to dry. This will take approximately two days.
Once the clay is dry, use acrylic paints to decorate the piggy bank. We used pink for the body, orange for the feet and ears, and blue and white for the eyes. Glue the pipe cleaner in place and curl.
Cut a coin-size hole in the plastic lid using a Stanley knife and steel ruler. Make sure the lid fits the tin can snugly. You can also cover your lid in pink felt to match the pig.
