For under $100, you too can create a stunning feature for your wall.
STEP BY STEP 1To start, wipe your frame with a damp cloth and clean the glass. 2 Now sand it lightly, and replace any missing putty. 3 Paint the frame and the piece of pine being used for the shelf. 4 Use a jig saw to cut the MDF sheet to size, and fit the backings of each frame. We suggest you number the backings, as each frame may be a slightly different measurement. 5 Be careful to mark the matt board on the back on the board, not the front when cutting it to size. 6 Now centre your picture on the matt board and mark the 4 corners, and draw lines to intersect. 7 Cut out the centre piece of matt board with the matt board cutter. 8 If you don't mind having a 90 degree edge, rather than a 45 degree one, you can use a scalpel instead of a matt board cutter. 9 Hold photos in frame with some tape on the back. 10 Put the MDF backing in place, with brads (small nails) to hold it there. 11 Screw the piece of pine onto the frame from the bottom 12 Finally, attach sturdy eyelets and a picture-hanging wire and hang on your wall. |
