Painting is an excellent way to liven up dull windows, mirrors, glass wear and other plain surfaces but if you don't want to the paint to be permanent, Glas Design is the answer. Glas Design peels off and can be reused and the design is only limited to the imagination.
Glas Design comes in easy to use plastic squeeze bottles with a long nozzle for simple application onto a plastic or glass sheet, or in pens which can be used for direct application. If you're not confident with your design skills, you can place a picture or stencil under the glass or plastic sheet to guide your painting. When using multiple colours, wait for each one to dry to avoid blending, or start by drawing your design with an outlining colour.
When applying Glas Design to a flat plastic surface, just make sure it doesn't contain PVC as the paint bonds to PVC permanently. So use an acetate sheet or glass surface, plastic pockets can be used and will also keep your stencil in place. When the design is dry, if it needs to be tidied use a knife to cut away any mistakes or if the paint is still dry just use a damp cloth with soap and water.
The paint can be used on all sorts of surfaces but the designs need to be kept away from extreme heat, cold or damp conditions. If you use it on glasses, peel your design off, wash the glasses and stick the picture back on.
Glas Design comes in 29 bright colourful shades, 6 glittering shades and 10 outlining colours. The paints can be mixed to create other shades and colours.
It isn't necessary to use the coloured outline paint for all designs, but it does have some useful qualities. The outline paint is useful to separate colours, so you don't have to wait for each individual one to dry and it creates a clean edge. For overall drying time, it's best to leave the finished design for about 6-8 hours or until the design can be peeled off in one piece. The outline paint a stiffer substance so it should be applied with a more care and accuracy.
Step by step 1 After deciding on your design sketch it onto a piece of paper and place it under the acetate sheet. Paint the design outline onto an acetate sheet and allow to dry. Make sure the plastic sheet is clean and dry. Use the paint directly from the bottle. 2 Fill out the design with your chosen colour making sure you fill in the colouring right to the outline edge to create a solid design. The colours may look "milky" at first, but after drying they will be bright and translucent. 3 Let the design dry for one day then remove from the plastic/glass sheet and stick onto the desired surface. The design will be self-adhesive but dampen the surface a little for better fastening.
