| Bluestone Artists |
| You'd expect the grandson of one of Australia's most famous artists to be creative, and that is certainly the case with Sir Sidney Nolan's grandson, Jock Langslow. Jock is carving a name for himself on his preferred canvas, bluestone. |

Jock Langslow first became interested in stone when he was a teenager, building walls on the family farm. A little later in life he began sculpting as a hobby, but his pastime soon turned into a consuming passion, as well as a thriving business.
Jock loves the age-old feel of bluestone, the fact that it has been around for so long and the fact that it feels like a part of the lifeblood of this planet. Jock explains that he is often led by the stone. "I might have an idea or motif when I approach a particular piece, but I find that a piece will often demand an action of me. So I seek to kind of meet it in the middle."
One of Jock's larger pieces is a garden seat carved out of a single piece of bluestone. He has also created a stylised bluestone mosaic of a bird, which he says "represents the navigator in all of us". He has also carved a beautiful piece for the centre of a courtyard, featuring the four points of the compass.
All of Jock's pieces are unique and will obviously be around for a long time, given the durable medium they are carved from.
