Designed by renowned architects Peter Stutchbury and Sue Harper, it resembles a tree house nestled into the hill, which works brilliantly for Keryn's new business of making moulded plywood furniture.

Keryn's business involves the designing and production of stylish, modern and original furniture. She's passionate about plywood as it's a natural renewable resource and can be produced in various shapes, crucial to Keryn's signature moulded pieces. The plywood is actually made on the moulds, with the individual veneer layers glued together and heat pressed into shape. Prices range from $75 for a children's stool, to $650 for a children's toy box.

When deciding upon a design for her office, Keryn chose to build in the backyard of her home. She required an additional entrance, as she wanted home and work life separate and incorporated recycled materials and an open plan into the design. It also had to be stylish, efficient and have lots of work or bench space.

To further separate home and work like, Keryn made the office self-sufficient with a shower, toilet, laundry tub, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The water from the shower goes straight through the timber deck, into a shower tray, which is then connected to plumbing.

The mainframe is made out of recycled blue gum and a lot of glass has been used to incorporate the outdoor environment taking advantage of the setting. The colorbond roof tilts to the north to maximise sun penetration. The work space is 4x4metres and can be opened on three sides by sliding glass doors and perspex folding garage doors. The ceilings and floors are plywood. The wooden deck has an all weather power point, so she can do her work outside as well as in.
